Amber bone
This necklace has been lovingly created with all natural beads.
The centre piece is a Eucalyptus gall. A gall is a part of a tree branch where a parasite has entered and the tree has continued to grow around. Often these branches will drop off after they reach a certain size as they aren’t as healthy as branches around them.
I love to forage on the ground for them.
I sat around a camp fire at Cockatoo lake South Australia and carved away the excess bark and sanded them back to show their natural shapes and textures.
Other beads used in this piece are vintage bone beads, deer bones that I have cut and tumbled when living in NSW and 2 different colour Baltic Amber beads. There’s also a couple of wooden beads in there.
This necklace is able to be worn at different lengths with a bead abled to be moved to adjust.
